WHAT IS WAREZ?

Warez is the name given to any piece of software, application, game, utility etc, which you don't have to pay for, but for which the manufacturer thinks that you should. If, for example, a specific game is only available if you buy the CD, and then somebody buys the CD and successfully makes a fully working or even cracked image of that game available, then that is now known as Warez.

Warez is basically anything which is software, and you've got it against the wishes of the manufacturer. Not surprisingly, the world of Warez is something of an "underworld", well, many of the originators are anyway, but fortunately for the masses there is more and more Warez now available. Whether it has been cracked, patched, has a keygen or a serial number provided with it or is actually the full retail version which has been somehow obtained and then released - then that's all Warez.

Not surprisingly the manufacturers would dearly love to know who is distributing this Warez, where it's coming from and how it's all getting into general release. Some websites simply won't allow Warez to be distributed on their sites, but when you can get your hands on a perfectly working version of Flash, Photoshop or 3D Studio Max for nothing, there's no wonder that plenty of people find it a very appealing option.
